Playdate

Recently two friends and I decided to meet regularly to converse, share ideas, eat, laugh, support, inspire and play together.  We made our first play date to paint and collage - explore - be loose - be messy and creative one and all.

We souped and such, poured tea, refreshed with chocolate, attuned our intention to be open to spirit's creative blessings, turned up the music and jived.  Very much like we used to do in kindergarten before responsibility reared its burdomsome head.  We got sloppy, giggled, painted, pasted tissue, cut out paper shapes and simply let go.

An amazing sense of we three community and love poured forth as well as sublime and powerful paintings.  Each of us is a responsible caretaker and community member.  We pride ourseves on an ever evolving and organic consciousness based on loving life and humanity.  But sometimes we just need to get out of our adult selves and simply reroot as kids.

I left our group that night way past my bedtime (yippee) tired and satiated.  The unconditional support and love is truly creation that rocks and ripples forward.  Thanks Vicky and Michele.  Till next time.

Dancing Under the Stars

A rare delight. Last night I went to a friend's "club" event which was located out-of-doors on the bay. Cocktails and hors d'oeuvre followed by dinner and dancing on the deck. There is something wildly freeing about dancing under the stars. It feels like the wind, water and sky are participating - even encouraging. I love it. A five piece band played and grooved with its audience. The sound was retro-reggae with the band doing every cover song to inspire creative movement.

The crowd was a wonderful mix of friends and strangers, youth and elders, shakers and the shaky. Dancing together mixing partners and derriers loosened the crowd in a joyous chorus. The ultimate antidote to all the partisanship that we are bombarded with on a daily basis. And did I mention that the music rocked?

Whooee. Fast-forward to the next morning and the after-glow of a rare event when all the elements come together to create a magical time of dancing and sharing a child's knowing of how to have fun. The only thing I would do different is one less rum punch, twenty less minutes of dancing and ice on my sore ankle. But that's only because it's the morning after. Last night was heavenly.

BloHaiSis's

Yesterday I received a great Valentine's Day gift from a new poet friend. I was inducted into the BloHaiSis's group. The BloHaiSis's is short for Blogging Haiku Sistahs which is an offshoot of NaHaiWriMo or National Haiku Writers Month (February) which itself was spawned by NaWriNoMo (or something like that). As far as I know, Grace Mattern and I are the only two members. I'm also not sure if this is an open or closed group - probably to be determined. (I have tried now for twenty minutes to add her link but am giving up before I toss the computer). I will type it out in longhand: www.thepremiseisgrace.wordpress.com.

Thank you to Grace and all my fellow haigin, poets and writers for sharing, caring and commenting.
