New moon solar eclipse

Blame it on the new moon and solar eclipse!

I was led astray again. The Sunday morning sun came streaming in the kitchen window through the blinds and I ran for my camera before I got dressed, brushed my teeth and greeted the dog.  The striations of light were just too radiant for me to ignore.   My enthusiasm quickly evaporated for my planned chore of switching from winter to summer clothes which I have to crawl in the attic to retrieve and store.  Also, I will have to bake muffins at another junction.

Instead - this is what appeared before my happy eyes:

Yes - I did run around the house collecting pieces to reflect the light.

The refracted light reminds me of beach shells and nature's own web of spirals.  It's really all about light and color and skipping the boring stuff to follow your passion now.  Tomorrow however,  I'll be sweating in long sleeves and jeans!  All in the name of ART.

  2. I love the play of light too. My favorite is sunlight on the surface of the lake near our home. It makes magical little diamonds of light that sparkle and shimmer. I love it. Glad you gathered some joy today!! Much more important than wardrobe rearrangement. Hope you have a wonderful week!

  3. I'm happy you took the time to catch the playful light. Sometimes we only get one chance for this and shouldn't let the opportunities pass. Your images are stunning!

  5. I know that morning.... thank you for sharing. It always brightens my day when I know others forgoe the "to-do" list in the name of catching good light. Wonderful post and stunning images. Definitely worth wearing winter clothes one more day.

    1. Thanks Teri for taking the time to be so supportive. There really is only so much time and I'm finally getting my priorities staight. I changed the clothes after work one night - turned the volume up on my ipad and got yhe job done anyway. It's time to follow the muse when she calls and it's time to recognize the importance of this. So cool to have others agree! Andrea
